On 10 October every year we celebrate World Mental Health Day with Tea & Talk events across the UK.
Research shows that talking is good for your mental health, and that’s what Tea & Talk is all about! Tea & Talk is a great way to come together with friends, family or colleagues to raise money and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation. Download your pack to get started!
Last year there were over 7,000 events across the UK, with over 260,000 people having conversations about mental health across their workplaces, schools, homes or the community.
We know that Tea & Talk can sometimes trigger emotional responses
If you are worried about your or one of your attendees’ mental or emotional state, please be aware that you can contact Samaritans completely confidentially and free of charge by calling 116 123.
We are also well aware that people’s relationships with food may vary. If Tea & Talk triggers a negative reaction for someone with an eating disorder, we recommend contacting Beat on 0808 801 0677.
Pin it for mental health
As part of your Tea & Talk event, you can also sell the international symbol of mental health – our green ribbon pin badges.
