If the referral is accepted, the child/young person (CYP) is added to the waiting list. The CYP will be matched with the appropriate clinician/s.
The ND service has implemented an age-based pathways model that has been considered within the service for some time. This approach aims to optimise the use of capacity and expertise within the ND clinical team. Grouping CYPs by age ensures that they are assessed by professionals best suited to their developmental stage, likely leading to more effective and timely assessments.
