The Vale Community Support Workers work with people who are receiving Care and Treatment from the Vale Locality Mental Health Team (VLMHT). The Community Support Workers develop Individual Recovery Focussed Support Plans to help people maintain or regain their social role by accessing leisure, training, sport, education or employment opportunities in the local community.
The Community Support Workers also offer a number of support groups such as the Football Group and the Social Group, providing opportunities for people to develop confidence, share experiences and build friendships aimed at supporting their recovery.
The team also run St Michaels move on project. St Michaels is a complex of eight individual flats, where people receiving care and treatment under the VLMHT can live for up two years. In that time we teach living skills and raise people’s confidence to go on and live independently in the community.
