We know that recent years have been very tough. We know that men are 3 times more likely to take their life, be addicted and less likely to seek help. Here at Stand Tall we aim to relieve the burden of poor mental health and wellbeing of the community of Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan. We believe in a hands on approach where physical and mental health are treated the same. We achieve this by providing courses and support for men struggling with aspect's of their mental heath, primarily our 8 week 'Strength and Wellbeing Course'.
Our unique Strength and Wellbeing Course has 2 distinct parts where each session is split in 2. The Strength element; intro to Olympic lifting for all abilities and the Wellbeing element; We hold workshops and seminars on a range of evidenced based topics such as anxiety, depression, sleep, stress and CBT informed tools. It's also free.
Our services are specifically for men 18+ local to Barry and the Vale who are struggling with aspects of their mental health. Typically mild to moderate mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
This is not a crisis service or therapy group and the course is not suitable for people with severe physical and mental health difficulties. In these cases, seeking advice from GP or further specialist support would be recommended.
