Liaison Psychiatry Older People (LPOP)

Liaison Psychiatry Older People (LPOP) work closely with patients aged over 65 in the 4 general hospitals of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. These include University Hospital Wales, University Hospital Llandough, Barry Hospital and St Davids.

The team use a model of care known as RAID which stands for Rapid Assessment, Interface and Discharge. If patients or family have any concerns about mental health whilst in hospital the LPOP RAID team can help. They need to request a referral from the general ward staff.
