Carers UK is the national membership charity for the more than 6.5 million people who look after older, ill or disabled family and friends in the UK. Every day 6,000 people become carers. It can happen suddenly – a birth, an illness, an accident – or it can start slowly, as our loved ones grow older or live longer with disability. However it happens, Carers UK is there with support, information and advice, campaigning for lasting change and innovating to find new ways to make life better for carers.
