We offer emotional support to Carers, listening and being there for them. We can also help people access counselling, and more practical support with issues including advocacy, money, entitlements, volunteering and work.
Carers are referred to us via a Carers Assessment social services. Any unpaid Carer is entitled to request a Carer's Assessment.
We also hold monthly Carers Coffee Mornings in Cardiff and Barry, where Carers can come for support from people who understand what it is to care for someone with mental illness. These take place from 11am to 1pm as follows:
* 3rd Wednesday of each month at The Bridge Between, Barry
* 3rd Thursday of each month at Chapter Arts, Cardiff

Adferiad provide one to one support for carers of people who have been enduring mental illness and where the cared for person is under the care of the Community Mental Health Team.
Our coffee mornings are open for anyone caring for someone with mental health problems.

Carers are referred to our service via a Carers Assessment, either by the Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan social services carer support teams. Carers can approach their local social services Carer Support Team to request a Carer’s Assessment.
We support clients from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and also hold monthly peer support groups (no referral needed!) every 3rd Wednesday of every month (in Barry) and every 3rd Thursday of the month at Chapter Arts Centre, Canton, Cardiff – 11am to 1pm.
