Launch of our From Migration to Resilience Exhibition: A Celebration of  Welsh-Asian Heritage at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre 21 November 2024

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Welsh Asian Heritage Project exhibition, From Migration to Resilience, at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre on Thursday 21 November from 11am to 3pm.

 From Migration to Resilience will be on display at the Senedd Oriel from Saturday 16 November until Thursday 19 December 2024. This exhibition is a milestone event dedicated to marking the profound connections, contributions, and shared stories of Welsh Asian communities It is an invitation to explore the vibrant tapestry of Welsh-Asian heritage – a story of migration told across generations and cultures – and the unique experiences of Asian communities in Wales.

Whether you are deeply connected to Welsh-Asian heritage or simply curious about the incredible histories that shape modern Wales, we invite you all to join us for this groundbreaking celebration of resilience. Here is what you can look forward to at the exhibition.

 

Invitation … How to Join Us

Join us for the official launch at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre on Thursday 21 November from 11am.

There will be talks, the screening of a short film, and an opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to the project. We will accompany attendees to see the exhibition to the Senedd Oriel, a five-minute walk from the Norwegian Church Arts Centre. Throughout the day there will be the opportunity to talk to project staff and contributors.

Together, let’s celebrate the past, present, and future of Welsh-Asian heritage. We hope to see you on 21 November!

The exhibition From Migration to Resilience will be on view at the Senedd Oriel from 16 November until 19 December 2024. This exhibition is being sponsored by Elin Jones MS.

The Welsh Asian Heritage Project is a community engagement project of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales and funded by the Welsh Government as part of its Anti-racist Wales programme.
